Arts & Craft

See and collect unique works of arts and crafts from the northern regions of Ghana. These parts of Ghana are unique in making woven baskets and hats, clay vessels and leather goods.  One can also find woven cloth often made into smocks and hats. This cloth differs in form, design and colour from the kente cloth in the southern regions of Ghana. The northern cloth is typically indigo and white and woven into long strips; the strips are then hand or machine sewn into a cloth, hat, smock, bag, dress etc. To experience the best of the cloth weaving heritage one needs only to visit Daboya.

For the time limited traveler, the Cultural Centre in Tamale hosts a majority of the arts and crafts of the north as well as diverse cultural activities.
